Gmail Security Post by Anand Garg

Gmail  is  the  world’s  most  secure  email
provider  service as  compared  to  other.  When
you send  an  email  to someone  the  mail  is
fully encrypted. Only you and the sender can
see  the  mail properly.  When  you  logins  to
your  mail  id  it  doesn’t mean that  the  mail
service is coming to you but actually you are
going  to  the  server to  access your  mail  id.
Gmail  is  the  only service  in  the  world  which
provides  more  security  services   as  compared
to  other  like  two  step  verification, don’t  ask
on  this  system  again, brute  force or  captcha
code, & security questions.

ü Two step verification:
This  feature  provides  user  the  most  active
and strong security. Enabling this feature helps you to login
with  a  specific one  time  code  send  by  the  mail  server  to
your  mobile  phone  without  that  code  nobody  can  login  to
your mail id even if he/she have your correct id & password.
To bypass this security he/she needs your mobile phone for
that code. If the phone is locked then also he/she can login
to  your  id  because  there  is  an  option  of  text  message  &
voice  call  on  code  verifying  screen.  To  be  secure  from  it
you need to be very careful.

ü Don’t ask on this system again:
This  feature  is  very  good  for  you  if  you  login
many  times  on  your  personal  system  daily. You  can  enable
this  feature  before  verifying  your  one  time  code.  This  will
register your system’s mac address to its database and allow
you  to  login  on  your  system  only  without  one  time  code.  If
you  login  on  another  system  anytime  then  the  one  time
verification code is needed.

ü Brute force or Captcha Code:
Gmail  has  its  own security  which  don’t  allows
anyone  to brute  force different  passwords  to  gain  access
to  someone  id.  If  somebody  will try  to  brute  force  your  id
then Gmail will show a screen to enter captcha code or will
stop  giving  you  service  on  the  system  for  some  specific
period of time.

ü Security Questions:
If  anybody  will  try  to  crack  your  password
through  recovery  or  by  cracking  security  questions  then
he/she will not be able to bypass it easily because Gmail asks
for the last password you remember then security question
then verifies through alternate email id or mobile no. so its
going to be very bad attempt for he/she to crack password
or  reset  password.  So  add  an  alternate  email  id  and  a
verified mobile no. with two step verification code enabled.

So give Gmail small information it will itself provide you big security as compared to others.
